Streamlining this article

Hello! I'm starting work on editing this article, as part of a Technical Editing class at Texas A&M University. I wanted to share what I am looking at working on, before making any major edits.

  • The major lack of citations. The first section of the article is especially lacking in references.
  • The organization of the article, especially as pertains to the lack of subsections. The sections seem to be very broad and slightly overwhelming.
  • The lack of any visual representation. Since art is a major factor in this article, there should definitely be some kind of visual representation included in the sections.
  • The "personal reflection/opinion essay" writing style, which Wikipedia has marked (WP:NOT#ESSAY). This might include rewriting some of the sections to make the style of the article more informative and doesn't include any original research (WP:NOR).

Organization

I have reorganized this article substantially. The topics are now grouped together in a more cohesive manner. (Here is a link to the original article with the old layout: https://en.chped.com/w/index.php?title=Art_and_World_War_II&oldid=805988579). By reorganizing, there now appears to be some redundant information. My next steps will be to go through the article and see if any of that reiterative information can be condensed. The content of the article still reads like an essay, so that is something that definitely needs to be addressed in the future, as well. I would love any thoughts or suggestions on the new layout of information, etc. Thanks! Sewinginthepast (talk) 17:21, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
