StaySafe.ph or Stay Safe is a digital contact tracing app launched by the Philippine government as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. The mobile app was developed and published by MultiSys Technologies Corporation.[1]

Development

StaySafe was developed by Multisys Technologies Corporation for the Philippine government and is intended to be a national digital contact tracing system. StaySafe was launched by the Philippine government in September 3, 2020.[1] The mobile app system was turned over to the government on March 3, 2021.[2] The Department of Interior and Local Government holds ownership of StaySafe and it is supported by the Department of Health and the Department of Information and Communications Technology. It also is approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.[3]

Features

Users of the StaySafe app would need to get registered. There are plans to make other existing contact tracing apps used by local governments in Philippines to be interoperable with StaySafe. The app would also have the following features[2]:

  • Health condition reporting
  • Social distancing system
  • COVID-19 updates
  • Contact tracing for real-time case management of local government units (LGUs)
  • Establishment of protection system
  • LGU heat map and response system
  • Information dissemination for LGUs.
